School Uniform

We positively encourage the wearing of school uniform in the firm belief it
encourages a whole school identity.

  • White shirt or polo shirt
  • Grey or black skirt, tunic, shorts or trousers
  • Maroon sweatshirt or cardigan
  • Maroon or yellow checked cotton dress (optional)
  • Maroon Blazer or zipped outdoor fleece (optional)
  • Maroon and gold school tie (optional)

Please note that items of school uniform should be plain, without sports emblems or other decoration. All items should be labelled with your child’s name.

In addition, pupils should bring a pair of shoes solely for indoor wear. Pupils should come to school with appropriate outdoor clothing suitable for the weather conditions.

A painting apron is required to protect your child’s clothes from glue and paint. An old shirt is all that is needed.

PE Kit

Pupils are required to bring a PE Kit consisting of plain shorts, a plain t-shirt, trainers/gym shoes. PE kit should be stored in a named bag and left in school during the week. Kit can be taken home any weekend and at the end of every term.

Pupils may not wear any jewellery during PE lessons and those with long hair should wear it tied back. Failure to bring kit may result in pupils not taking part. If your child is unable to take part in PE they should bring a note explaining the reason for this.

Castle Warehouse, Peebles – holds certain items but not blazers.

Clan House, Newington, Edinburgh for blazers.

Ties, polo-shirts, sweatshirts, cardigans, t-shirts, sweaters and zipped fleeces are all obtainable from Border Embroideries (website).
