P6 were set the challenge of building a shelter. Each team was given a set amount of tokens to buy resources. Not all teams got the same amount of tokens and the ‘rich’ teams were allowed to buy the resources first. The focus was to see how they worked as a class. The children soon worked out that it was better to team up with another group. Some ‘rich’ groups even began sharing their resources with others. We then had a discussion about fairness and how that affects refugees (linked to our class novel The Boy at the Back of the Class).
