FAREWELL MR ELLIOTT

There’s been lots of excitement and joy in school this week as the rehearsals and preparations for our Christmas Nativity and Concert hot up – Christmas really is a great time of year if you are lucky enough to work in a school. The P5s have been making visits to church to rehearse for our end of term service and the Senior Choir performed at the WRVS Christmas lunch in the village on Thursday. But It’s also been a week of mixed emotions at school this week as we entered the last week of Mr Elliott’s time here with us. The pupils in P1 and P1/2 planned a surprise party for Mr Elliott on Thursday afternoon which he thoroughly enjoyed and the whole school gathered for a special assembly this morning. Mr Elliott wore a Good Luck sash and sat on a special chair whilst every class presented him with cards and posters of memories as well as a special book which included messages from every pupil in the school! We finished our Assembly by giving Mr Elliott a wonderful rendition of the song – You Are a Star. Mr Elliott has been a star and he will be sadly missed at WLPS. We wish him all the best in his new teaching post and know he will keep in touch.

Next week at West Linton we will put the finishing touches to our concert, perform the show twice to families and friends and enjoy our whole school Christmas lunch! We also welcome M&M Productions to perform their panto and send P6s and P7s off to the Eastgate Theatre for their festive film. Lots to look forward to – have a lovely weekend!
