A quick update on one of our Ministerial roles to start the final blog of term… Our Ministers for Sport have been given the opportunity to embark on an exciting Award Scheme- The Young Leader Award – and they will be the first cohort to be offered this within Scottish Borders. The award is a great introduction into leadership, giving pupils knowledge of how to organise and lead small games and activities that can be used as part of uniformed organisation, community club or sports club sessions. The award aims to help learners develop leadership skills such as organisation, communication and teamwork, as well as help to build confidence and self-esteem as they take on the responsibility of leading their peers and younger children. What a super opportunity for the ministers and one I know they will relish.
Our last day of term was spent in the company of Fischy Music. Three workshops across the morning followed by a fantastic concert in the afternoon for all of our pupils, including the ELCC. Thank you to the families who were able to attend the event – I know they are glad they did! It was a fabulous way to end such a positive term at West Linton with smiles and laughter across the faces of pupils and staff. Probably Ethan, in P4, summed it up with one word as he left the hall – EPIC.
Wishing every member of our West Linton Primary School community a happy, restful holiday – see you all on the 19th!
