Monday’s Citizenship Gathering and Friday’s Assembly had a focus on the World’s Biggest Lesson – to promote the United Nation’s Goals for Sustainable Development. The lesson is designed to raise awareness of the 17 goals set with the deadline of 2030. You can find out more about the goals here …

On Monday evening West Linton staff travelled to Priorsford for the first of our collegiate sessions around Maths and Numeracy. We enjoyed the time to meet with our colleagues, engage in professional dialogue and agree next steps for further meetings. We look forward to welcoming Priorsford staff to school to observe numeracy lessons and also to our staff having the same opportunity at Priorsford next term.

Our P7s trip to the Crucial Crew on Tuesday was a great success. Both Miss Wight and Mrs Butler commented on the children’s excellent behaviour and approach to the event. It was also particularly pleasing that the event coordinators and bus driver were equally as complimentary.

Thanks to the many parents who have completed the Survey Monkey questionnaire around September Meet the Teacher and Open Afternoon events. I will share the results of these in a future newsletter and any actions we decide to take as a result of the responses. There is still time to complete by clicking on the following link

Next week we are all looking forward to the last day of term – Thursday 8th October – and our visit from Fischy Music. There will be a series of workshops for every pupil in the morning and a concert to which the ELCC and our families are invited in the afternoon (2-3pm). We sincerely hope you can join us for this event.

When we return after the holidays we have a Maths and Numeracy focus fortnight which includes our evening session for parents with Tom Renwick on Tuesday 27th October – please keep the date!
